veteran and senior citizen adoptions

We are proud to partner with these organizations to help facilitate adoptions for veterans and senior citizens.

Senior Citizens: IndyHumane is a partner shelter of the Pets for the Elderly Foundation.
We provide up to a $50 discount to senior citizen adopters (age 60+) who adopt animals from IndyHumane.

We work with Vets Adopt Pets to thank & celebrate Veterans and Active Duty for their service to all Americans.  As a show of our appreciation together we provide a fee waiver for the adoption of a pet from our shelter.  Veterans and Active Duty need to sign up with Vets Adopt Pets before adopting. Please note: some animals’ adoption fees may not be waived through this program, including cats or dogs indicated as legacy animals.

Through a partnership with Pets For Patriots, there is a $50 reduction of the adoption fee for qualified veterans or military active duty families, a minimum of 10% off through their partner Veterinary Clinics, a “members only” discount to help veterans and active duty members save money on pet health insurance, treats, pet food, medications, and supplies from trusted brands, and  a $150 pet retail gift card to all adopters. Please note that veterans must apply/be approved by Pets for Patriots prior to adoption. Learn more here.
