become a volunteer

Thank you for your interest in IndyHumane’s volunteer program! We’ve had a ton of applications and are currently sorting through them. The volunteer application form is paused as we onboard and train the current applicants. The application form will reopen November 1st. Please check back then to apply for the program!

In the meantime, we encourage you to volunteer with our Pet Adoption Wagon (PAW)! You can volunteer at events around town as you are available – no minimum amount required. Volunteering at these events do not require you to go through full training and onboarding, and it does not replace the training for being a shelter volunteer. If you are interested in signing up for an event you can do so here. If you have any questions about volunteering on the PAW you can email our Community Outreach Coordinator.

The Mission of the Volunteer Program is to support the staff in their service to the mission of IndyHumane. We couldn’t do what we do without the help of our incredible team of volunteers, and we hope you’ll join that team and be part of a community who is changing the lives of homeless dogs and cats.
