Hi, I'm Mel.

The first thing you should know about me is that I'm a little nervous. New places, new people, and big changes can make me feel unsure at first. I like to take my time getting to know the world around me, and I feel safest with kind people who are patient and understanding.

But once I realize that I'm safe, you'll start to see the real me. I'm a sweet boy with a gentle heart, and I love having someone I can trust by my side. Every kind word and gentle scratch helps me come out of my shell a little more.

I also have something called heartworm disease, which means I'll need some extra care as I continue my journey to feeling my best. Please don't let that scare you away. What I need most is a loving home and people who will see me for who I am, not just my diagnosis.

I'm dreaming of a family who understands that some dogs need a little extra time, a little extra patience, and a little extra love. In return, I'll give you my whole heart. There's nothing I'd love more than to finally find a place where I can relax, feel secure, and know that I'm home.
