it's nice to meet you!

Meet Nyx — a bold, affectionate girl with a big personality and an even bigger need for a soft place to land.
Nyx loves people, walks nicely on leash, and lights up over a good game of tug. She's shy at first but warms up quickly once she trusts you. She does best as the only dog going through introductions slowly, and hasn't been around cats.
Nyx is also managing hip dysplasia and some ongoing tummy sensitivity, so she needs a family who can keep up with daily joint supplements, a gentle diet, and regular vet check-ins — plus a little extra care and patience when it comes to handling, since sore hips make her sensitive to being touched in certain spots. None of this dims her spirit, but it does mean she needs an adopter (or foster!) who understands her a little before they meet her.
We'd especially love to find Nyx a foster home — even short-term — while she works on weight gain and comfort outside a kennel environment. If you're experienced with dogs who need a bit of extra TLC, Nyx would love to meet you. Her adoption fee is sponsored by Hensley Legal.
