Ayla

Ayla
October 10, 2014 | Happy Tails

I met Ayla (once Meka) about a year ago, a month after my dog of 13 years had died from cancer. I had no desire to get another dog so soon, but apparently the universe had other plans. A friend invited me to IndyHumane to help her volunteer, and while I was there I came across this new girl and fell in love. I was told she might be shy and hang back, but from the moment I saw her she was friendly and wanted to play. I obsessively watched the website until she came up for adoption, and the rest is history.

That said, it hasn't been all smooth sailing. She has had many fear and anxiety issues to work through, and a few more to go. But she is the sweetest, smartest, most lovable dog I've had the pleasure of meeting and it's been worth all the trials and tribulations and destroyed pieces of furniture. One of the greatest joys of my life has been helping her regain her confidence and blossom into a friendly, happy dog that everyone gets to experience.

Thank you for letting me meet my new best friend!
