The Humane Society of Indianapolis (IndyHumane) will participate in the Clear the Shelters pet adoption event this Saturday. IndyHumane will waive adoption fees on Saturday, August 19, as part of the nationwide Clear the Shelters initiative that seeks to find new homes for homeless pets. Normal adoption procedures will apply, and information about the adoption process can be found at indyhumane.org.
“We’re looking forward to participating in this year’s Clear the Shelters initiative, and we think it’s a unique way to work together and find great homes for the many homeless animals in Central Indiana,” Steven Stolen, Chief Executive Officer at IndyHumane, says. “We’re thankful for the opportunity to participate in this national effort, and we hope it inspires our local community to take action and open their homes to animals in need.”
Clear the Shelters is a nationwide pet adoption event, and IndyHumane has teamed up with WTHR Channel 13-NBC to participate locally on August 19. NBC and Telemundo stations across the country are working with shelters to find loving homes for animals. Last year’s Clear the Shelters event found homes for over 50,000 pets.
