Spay/Neuter Surgery & Vaccine Clinic Veterinary Technician (Full Time)

We are seeking a veterinary technician for the IndyHumane Downtown Clinic. This position is responsible for assisting in spay/neuter surgery providing check-in/check-out, prep, recovery, and husbandry support/assistance.  Will work with veterinarian to provide wellness services for vaccination clinic patients. Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or technician required. Pay for this position is $15/hourly.

Veterinary Nurse (Full Time)

We are currently looking for a veterinary nurse to assist our veterinarians in shelter medicine duties in our intake, surgery, foster program and vaccine clinic areas. A typical day could include performing physical examinations, heartworm and FIV/FeLV tests, preparing vaccines, restraint and administering heartworm prevention, flea prevention and deworming, receiving intake appointments and educating the public in a manner that is conducive to accomplishing the organization’s goals through professional and respectful conversations with patrons. Good client and peer communication skills, ability to work within a team to accomplish daily tasks and punctuality are a must. Veterinary technology degree or experience preferred.

Canine Animal Care Technician (Full Time)

IndyHumane is seeking a Full Time Canine Animal Care Technician. Persons applying must be passionate about working with humans and dogs. The ability to handle dogs of all sizes, willingness to learn how to interact with dogs of all temperaments, the energy to assist with enriching and training dogs, and an eagerness to work as part of team are all abilities we need for this position. Applicants should be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, lift at least 50-pounds and should not be allergic to cleaning solutions or animals. Will perform duties pertaining to kennel maintenance, custodial responsibilities, maintaining a disease-free environment, and feline enrichment and behavioral tasks. Interacts with the public, staff, and volunteers professionally and with exceptional customer service.

Vaccine Clinic Assistant (Part Time)

Provides education for vaccine clinic clients regarding medical care for pets, products, common diseases, and to educate patrons on other services provided by IndyHumane. Accountable for accurate paperwork and record keeping, including closing vaccine clinic cash drawer nightly. Responsible for maintaining vaccine clinic inventory and meeting revenue goals through both sales and donations. Must interact with public, staff, community service, and volunteers safely, professionally and with exceptional customer service skills.
