This has been on my list to do for quite some time as it has been a year in April since Ben (Benji, as IndyHumane knows him) rescued us. Every time my daughter and I come to IndyHumane to visit with the animals and drop off our donations, we are reminded of what a wonderful place IndyHumane is and how much of a gift all of the animals are.

Our family had a great loss in the fall of 2010 when we had to put down our beloved mini Dachshund of 16 years. We still had our mini Schnauzer with us, but there was a hole in all of our hearts when Sparky left us. We knew it would take a special dog to help fill the hole, and from the moment we saw Ben, we knew he was the one! We had been visiting IndyHumane for months just looking for the right dog and as soon as I found out he was up for adoption, I knew Ben was meant to be in our family! We had been visiting every day, waiting for him to be given the green flag to be adopted, and the first morning he was available, we were outside of IndyHumane patiently waiting for the doors to open. He is an amazing dog that has brought the spark back in our dog Dax, who had been missing his lifelong companion Sparky. There is not a day that goes by that our Ben doesn’t make us laugh and fill our hearts with joy. We are so grateful to be a part of the IndyHumane family, and to have been rescued by Ben. Thanks again for all you do!
