Below is a message from all of the puppies, kittens, dogs and cats of the Humane Society of Indianapolis with items they've requested:

To keep our areas clean, we need:

  • Bleach - Ultra Clorox (not concentrated)                              
  • Tall kitchen garbage bags
  • Pump bottles of hand soap (not bars)
  • Dawn dish soap
  • Paper towels

To keep us comfortable, we need:

  • Nylon collars of all sizes
  • Copy paper boxes (for our kittens!)
  • Blankets and bath towels (NO pillows please!)

For our playtime, we need:

  • Soft cat toys
  • “Squeeze cheese” (cheese in a can)
  • Creamy peanut butter
  • Hot dogs
  • Kongs (all sizes) - prefer black heavy-duty Kongs
  • Nylabones & other tough chew toys
  • Pig ear treats
  • Rolled Dog Food (Natural Balance brand)
  • Small chewy/soft treats to use for dog training

For our foster care program, we need:

  • Canned puppy and kitten food
  • Royal Canin "Mother and BabyCat" specifically
  • KMR or JustBornmilk replacer
  • Small bags of clay cat litter (need lots)
  • Small bags of dry, high quality cat and kitten food
  • Small bags of dry, high quality dog and puppy food
  • Puppy pee pads
  • Puppy toys (rope toys and squeakers)

To keep us healthy, we need:

  • Hand sanitizer – pump style
  • Disposable latex exam gloves (with or without powder)
  • 4” x 4” gauze squares: non-sterile (we use a lot of these)
  • Wood tongue depressors
  • Greenies Pill Pockets

For our Community Cat Program, we need:

  • Dry dog food & cat food, partially used bags are fine
  • Canned cat food
  • Canned fish (tuna, salmon, sardines, mackerel)
  • Ziploc bags (1 gallon)
  • Capstar
  • Paper food trays
  • Nutrical

Other items that would be helpful:

  • Permanent markers (blue and black) and ink pens (any color)
  • Cases of white copy paper (we use a lot!)
  • Duracell and Energizer AA and AAA batteries
  • Storage bins with lids (various sizes)
  • Bird Seed
  • Cans of soda or pre-packaged treats (for our humans who work tirelessly to care for our animals)
