IndyHumane will be hosting a “baby shower” this weekend to highlight animal foster care program opportunities and encourage families to help during the busiest seasons for young animals in need.
This open house style event will feature a variety of activities for both children and adults, includingface painting, various games, a coloring station, silent auction, stuffed animal “adoptions” and achance to name a puppy or kitten. Attendees can also learn about IndyHumane’s foster programand how to become a foster family.
“We have a high need for fosters during the spring, as we see an increase of puppies and kittensduring this time and, unfortunately, shelters become over-populated,” said Jessica Kanalos, Foster Care Manager and event organizer. “We hope this event will bring awareness to the importance ofour foster care program and help families learn more about the services IndyHumane provides.”
IndyHumane asks attendees to bring a donation of animal supplies to support the care of the baby animals in the foster care program. A full list of items needed can be found here. Those who bring a donation will be entered into a raffle and a silent auction will be available. For those looking to adopt a pet, tours of the shelter will be given, and attendees will be able to interact with the pets currently available for adoption.
