Boy Scout volunteers to build dog beds

Robert Weaver with HSI Director of Operations Christine Jeschke and a shelter dog Future Eagle Scout Robert Weaver recently volunteered his time and skills to build 100 beds for shelter dogs at the Humane Society of Indianapolis. Previously, most of the dogs slept on towels in the shelter’s kennels.

Robert (pictured with Director of Shelter Operations Christine Jeschke) developed and completed the project, including raising funds and gathering others to help him build the beds. For the full story, see the Indy Star’s article “Scout helps let sleeping dogs lie”.

On behalf of our shelter dogs, the Humane Society of Indianapolis offers a big “THANK YOU!” to Robert and everyone else who made this possible!
