Save a life and bring some love into your heart and home during national “Adopt a Senior Pet Month” this November. Many senior pets are waiting in shelters right now, including here at IndyHumane, hoping you will give them the second chance they deserve.
What you see is what you get with a senior pet. They have just as much love to give, can be easier to live with than puppies and kittens and are almost always house/litter trained.
Yet, they are often overlooked by potential adopters.

Senior pets are made adoption ready thanks in part to a grant from the Grey Muzzle Organization, a national nonprofit dedicated to saving older dogs. This grant awarded to IndyHumane provides medical and dental care to senior dogs. Grey Muzzle envisions a world where every senior dog thrives and no old dog dies alone and afraid.
