Natalie (now Rosie): a Happy Beginning

August 30, 2019 | Happy Tails

Natalie (now Rosie) is a senior pup who, in the spring of 2019, was repeatedly found as a stray. She had several medical issues, including large tumors across her body. Her previous owner finally admitted to IndyHumane that he couldn’t care for Natalie the way her aging body needed, and he never reclaimed this sweet girl.
But, Natalie’s story was just beginning, as a family with a soft spot for senior dogs soon adopted Natalie to give her the best retirement home possible in her golden years.
They sent us this sweet update, along with some photos in her new home!

“She’s a real treasure – she has a very sweet nature and very good house manners. She settled into the house very quickly and immediately took to her dog beds. She was having stomach problems when we brought her home.  We’ve added dog food now and she’s gaining some needed weight.  She does sleep a lot and has many very slow moving days, as expected for her 10 years of age, but overall she seems very happy. She’s  been to our Vet for one visit, and we’ll have the remaining lump or lumps looked at again in a couple of months.

We’re pretty sure that she is completely deaf, but it doesn’t seem to bother her and we’ve all learned to communicate very well.  She likes to go outside and slowly wander around and around our large, fenced backyard, and we always keep an eye out for her.
We’re so happy that IndyHumane’s staff took her in and helped her through a tough time, taking such good care of her.  We love her and are so glad to have her as our pet.
Thank you for all the hard work you all do!
Cliff and Patricia”
