Maddie is fun girl looking for an adopter who is ready for a very smart and very active dog. She is a bit of timid girl in new situations and with new people, so adopter will need to be willing to work with her, building her confidence using only positive training methods (she will not do well being scolded/intimidated, nor should she ever be put on any sort of aversive collar). She's a fun and playful girl once comfortable with someone, she enjoys toys and will lean in for petting. She does need a home without children or cats, and would do best in home with low foot traffic. She will need help learning to make positive associations to sharing her high value food items. She is known to resource guard from other dogs, so while she can play with them in an neutral environment, she's likely best placed as single pet as she doesn't share her food or toys with other dogs in the home.
