Rocky is very sensitive boy who will need to be placed in a quieter home with an adopter who is ready to continue to help him build a bond with them at his own pace. Applicants specifically need to be able to see past his small size and cute face, and carefully read what he is looking for in the right home before applying. He can be easily overwhelmed, and will need a very patient adopter who understands it will take time to build a bond with him. He is a dog who has had some past traumas and will need someone who will allow him to do things on his own terms and will never force him into any behaviors he finds scary. He responds very well to gentle attention and is really a nice boy once comfortable with someone. He does need a home where his adopter will be committed to using only positive training methods and will get him lots of praise to help him build a bond with them. He can never be scolded or physically corrected. Rocky loves to play fetch and play with mini squeaky ball toys, so having time of lots a daily play is a must with Rocky! He needs a home without children. He has done well in a foster home with social dogs. Rocky is still working on learning his housebreaking skills and will need an adopter who understands this and will work with him using only positive methods. Because of the the house soiling he will not be able to be placed in an apartment style living situation.
