Pat’s Paws Teen “Trainor” Program
A service and mentoring program for 16- to 18-year-old high school students in honor of Patrick Trainor.

Who is the program for?

Teens interested in helping homeless animals and doing a service to our community.

Teens who enjoy working with others to make a difference.

Teens who need to complete service hours for school or who just want to help.
What is the time commitment?

12 month membership starting June 2012

Training: Orientation, Mentor Meetings

Volunteering: 2-4 hours monthly of in-shelter volunteering with the animals

Service: Two group service projects with other Pat's Paws members

Pat’s Paws Club Meetings throughout the year

Patrick Trainor Award
The Patrick Trainor Award will be given to the student who excels in the areas of service, mentoring, and attitude. The award will include recognition on a plaque displayed at IndyHumane, a shadow day opportunity with a veterinarian in the Indianapolis area, and a financial prize.

How to Sign Up

Submit an Application by 5pm Friday 05/11/12 – Send membership fee with application. We accept membership fees in form of cash, money order, or check. Be sure to write your child’s full name and “camp” on the memo line of checks. New PCC Mentor Applicants must also submit, with the application, a letter of recommendation.

We notify applicants when their application has been received. This confirmation email will include dates for trainings and Mentor meetings scheduled in May.
Program Components
Service
Pat's Paws members will participate in service projects to spread the word about IndyHumane and to raise funds for the thousands of animals IndyHumane cares for each year.
Mentoring
Pat's Paws members will act as mentors while working with young teens in IndyHumane's Paws & Claws Club, a camp for students 10-15 years old.
Membership
Memberships last for 12 months starting in June each year. Orientation and training hours can count toward total service hours.
Membership Fees
$50 due at orientations held in March.
*Partial scholarships are available for families experiencing financial hardship. Call 317.872.5650 x106 for more info. Fees go toward our scholarship fund, t-shirts, and other program expenses.
