To sign up for a class please email or call. You may pay via cash, check or credit card on the first day of class. All dogs must bring current shot records on the first day of class.
Group classes starting Wednesday May 9 (ends May 30)
6 to 6:50 p.m. Puppy Prep: For puppies 2-4 months old: Learn basic manners including sit, polite greeting, targeting, recall (come) and loose leash walking, as well as socialization with other people and dogs. We will also work on basic husbandry skills such as preparing your puppy for a happy experience at the veterinarian, as well as handling for grooming and nail trims.
7 to 7:50 p.m. Good Dog 101: Learn basic manners including sit, down, polite greeting, targeting, recall (come) and loose leash walking.
Classes starting Monday May 14 (Class will be held May 14, 21, June 4 and June 11)
6 to 6:50 p.m. Good Dog 101: Learn basic manners including sit, down, polite greeting, targeting, recall (come) and loose leash walking.
7 – 7:50 p.m. Advanced training: For dogs that have completed Good Dog 101. Work on advanced skills such as sit and down with distraction as well as teaching fun and games including introduction to nose games and teaching tricks. This class is tailored to the needs of the dogs enrolled and people may be working on different projects throughout the class.
Classes starting Thursday May 24 (Ends June 14)
6 – 6:50 p.m. Good Dog 101: Learn basic manners including sit, polite greeting, targeting, recall (come) and loose leash walking.
7 to 7:50 p.m. Puppy Prep: For puppies 2-4 months old: Learn basic manners including sit, polite greeting, targeting, recall (come) and loose leash walking, as well as socialization with other people and dogs. The following dog training classes are one-hour and designed as a complete unit. Each class is $25.
Saturday, May 12
11 to 11:50 a.m. Puppy Basics. Get a great start with your puppy. Learn about house-breaking, stopping nipping, and puppy socialization with other puppies in the class.
1 to 1:50 p.m.: Learn to Speak Dog: If you find yourself constantly asking, "Why does my dog do that?", then this is the class for you. This class will go over basic dog body language as well as helping you learn how to have a great relationship with your dog. The session will go over basic clicker training as well. This one-hour session will get you on the road to a great relationship with your dog. This class is free and is for humans only. However, you must still register for the class so we know how many people will attend. If you attend this class and then sign up for a four-week group class you will receive a 10 percent discount on the group class.
Saturday May 19

Private Canine Training Classes:
Private dog training classes are available at IndyHumane or in your home. Classes are $50 per hour in the shelter or $75 in your home. A mileage charge may apply if you live more than 15 miles from IndyHumane. Private classes give you the option of just working on specific concerns you may have with your dog's behavior.
