HSI is currently looking for a full time Customer Service Representative to consult with all potential adopters of animals consistent with HSI policies, procedures, beliefs and mission. CSR must be accountable for accurate paperwork and record keeping for animal adoptions. Must also be able to competently perform duties that include handling (i.e. enrichment) and cleaning as well as other customer service area responsibilities. Must interact with public, staff, community service, and volunteers professionally and with exceptional customer service skills. Should also be able to communicate and be knowledgeable of municipal laws and ordinances and fundraising aspects of the Humane Society. Is expected to work safely and professionally.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Review all adoption paperwork with potential adopters
Represent Humane Society beliefs and procedures
Assist potential adopters in finding the right pet and preventing mismatches
Competently place all animals in good permanent homes
Ensure accuracy and completeness of adoption paperwork and money handling
Demonstrate excellent communication and exceptional customer service skills
Ensure proper animal handling and educate the public on same
Solicit donations, sells obedience classes and merchandise
Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments for animal surrenders
Perform other duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 18 years of age
Minimum education: high school diploma or its equivalent. Some post-high school education preferred
Knowledgeable in all phases of animal care, grooming, behavior problems, disease recognition and animal training
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Must have customer service experience
Animal or kennel experience preferred
Must have conflict resolution skills
Being bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.
