The people and animals of Haiti are in our thoughts. If you’d like to help Haiti’s animals, please consider a donation to members of ARCH, the Animal Relief Coalition of Haiti.
As an Indy-based, independent non-profit organization, the Humane Society of Indianapolis supports ARCH’s desire and ability to help animals in need during international disasters such as the Haiti earthquake. Donations to co-founding ARCH member IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare) and others, such as Utah-based Best Friends, will fund an emergency animal-relief mission in response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti.
From IFAW: “Haiti’s capital of Port-au-Prince has been decimated, and many people have perished and been seriously injured. Many animals are also suffering, so our team is in the Dominican Republican preparing a mobile veterinary clinic. We need to stock our mobile clinic with medicine, syringes, bandages, food, and other supplies. Once the human relief efforts have taken hold and security is in place - and depending on the needs we find on the ground, our team will deploy and begin their lifesaving work.”
The Humane Society of Indianapolis thanks you for your local support. We also appreciate your desire to help Haiti’s animals in need.
